Colosseum is Back

Thursday, December 17th, 2009 by Johan H, CEO

The last two weeks a lot of fans have contacted us wondering why Colosseum is gone from Xbox LIVE Indie Games. We checked this up and it turned out that a slight glitch in our distributor’s system has made Colosseum and some others games unavailable for a while. This is now fixed and Colosseum is back on track of the Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

Famous and all that

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009 by Johan H, CEO

This morning I read an interesting article about how the ‘new’ rating system has helped push the sales on Xbox LIVE Indie Games (read here). This is good stuff to us as well. Nowadays we sell around 1.000 units of Colosseum each month, which is to be considering good in the circumstances. So thank you guys for buying and hopefully enjoying Colosseum too!

Anyways, the interesting part of the screenshot is to the right. Swedish indie developer Erik Svedäng, creator of Blueberry Garden, has become famous and with that comes the status of glam POSTER BOY! Pretty neat. :)

Re-release Party Prototype

Saturday, July 25th, 2009 by Johan H, CEO

The Xbox LIVE Indie Games and Colosseum to Sweden thing came right out of the blue. So there was no way to plan a re-release party (we like parties). Expect one soon though.

Meanwhile enjoy this release party mock-up photo – this is how it might look when executed.

Xbox LIVE Indie Games now in Sweden

Friday, July 24th, 2009 by Johan H, CEO

To much satisfaction we noticed the news that Xbox LIVE Indie Games (previously Xbox LIVE Community Games) will finally hit Sweden. In fact, it’s here already. This is awesome of two reasons, (1) our family and friends have asked us since November last year why Colosseum is not #¤&%!-ing available in Sweden and (2) that other Swedes will be able to go nuts with Colosseum as well.

Even if Xbox LIVE Indie Games is available in Sweden as I write, Colosseum is not… yet. We’ve to re-submit Colosseum to peer-review before it’ll hit the Swedish Xbox LIVE Marketplace. Which is done. In our experience this peer-review process is a 3-5 day odd happening so expect the release of Colosseum sometime in next week.

Ehh.. if you pick up Colosseum, do tell us what you think.

Now, Bitburger please, cheers!

Give us harsh truth

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009 by Johan H, CEO

Nothing new to report, evaluating game engines doesn’t make great headlines really. Hang tight though! Yesterday we had Monday beer together, which was nice. Also, a cool thing that we discovered a while ago is a Xbox LIVE Community Games dedicated site called Xbox LIVE Community Games Catalog (http://xblcg.info). As the name reveals it’s pretty much a catalog of all games available at XBLCG. The actual feature that makes this site cool is a very simple rating system. Users can recommend or not recomment a game with a simple 1/0 input. You guys that follows this devlog know that THIS FEATURE is something that we actually want to see imbedded in the actual XBLCG system. This would (1) really make a difference from XBLA and (2) promote good games and help people find them. So, if you’re guys are fans of Colosseum and wanna help us push Colosseum up the ranks, do give us the thumb up at http://xblcg.info/game/colosseum, will ya?

Meanwhile, enjoy this little fella..

On Sales and What’s Next

Friday, April 3rd, 2009 by Johan H, CEO

Hey guys!

You news consuming dogs most probably know by now that the Xbox LIVE Community Games sales figures unfortunately are in parity with the general state of the world econmy. In other words, not that good. It’s bad, but we’ll (try) not to cover anything up. I’ve been in contact with a couple of game journalists and explained my view on the low sales, which are 4000 units for us btw. Check out Patrick Klepek’s article at Gamasutra which features our and a couple of other fellow devs’ view on this.

One bad thing gives three good things though:

1. Colosseum has since November 19 been downloaded by more than 122.000 people (cool)!

2. We’ve lowered the price on Colosseum to 400 msp only. Anyone interested??!

3. We’re still going strong, check out www.aliveandundead.com!

And four, it’s friday – happy weekend guys! This will be my first non-work weekend in three weeks.

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009 by Johan H, CEO

Hey dudes, I have to remind you that our contest, the Colosseum Boss Challenge, will only be open for entry 4 more days. Don’t miss this out, as this probably will be the best chance you’ll get to win yourself a brand new Xbox 360 Elite this year. This is amazing stuff, but how is it possible??!!! Easy, record a video of you beating a boss of choice in Colosseum and upload your video on YouTube. Read more about the Colosseum Boss Challenge at the contest webpage http://www.shortfuse.se/contest.php, where you also submit your entry. Last day for entry is March 15 2009. DON’T FORGET!
